I wrote 'She Rose Free' about a week after completing the Island Life album. I remember feeling very inspired on that day! I went out into nature, thought about my recent move to California this past year and wondered when I should release the album. It meant so much to me that I just needed to take a second to myself with my guitar and come up with something new again. I didn't intend on making a single for my new album it just so happen to coexist all together. Speaking of togetherness, my friend Antony painted the cover art and he had listened to a couple of dusty demos I recorded during 2019 for the album. He came up with a very universal concept of Island Life--and that is, the future just is.
